TDG trials new Gibney Barrier safety innovation
Traffic Diversions Group has been working closely with Fulton Hogan to trial a new traffic safety innovation for the Australian market.
We recently tested the Gibney Barrier, a traffic control device developed by Fulton Hogan in New Zealand, an alternative to the traditional Stop/Slow bat. The Gibney effectively acts as a boom gate, allowing a traffic controller to stand off the road and out of the line of fire from live traffic.
The Australian Model of the Gibney Barrier is an approved traffic control device by the Australian Roads Research Board’s Transport Infrastructure Product Evaluation Scheme.
