Teamwork prevents house fire.

Traffic Diversions Group is very proud of the efforts of Sobhi Abouzeid, Jacob Deacon, and Tamara Toi, who recently demonstrated fantastic teamwork when they went above and beyond whilst working on a rail occupation.

A house fire was noticed across the tracks and without hesitation the team leaped into action, contacting emergency services and racing to the fire. On arriving at the location, they checked either side of the house, banging on the garage door and front window to notify the residents and when no one responded, they started to extinguish the fire. They found a hose without a tap connection, so held the hose up to the spout to get water flowing to douse the flames. The heat was intense, and the smoke was intoxicating, though Sobhi and Jacob continued to save the property and adjoining properties until the fire brigade arrived and took over the scene.

After the fire was extinguished, the fire brigade personally thanked the team for their great work, stating if they hadn’t acted when they did the house would have certainly burnt down.

The teamwork displayed on the night was truly amazing, to achieve a common goal to complete the task in the most effective and efficient way and certainly portrays the high level of caliber TDG’s traffic controllers offer.
