Verification of Competency for the Gibney Barrier, Portaboom and eStop devices

Congratulations to Fulton Hogan for recently being awarded the AFPA 2022 VIC Safety Initiative Award for their initiative to move traffic.

Traffic Diversions Group are pleased to have the opportunity to work alongside Fulton Hogan on this initiative to reduce the critical risks for our people onsite by using alternate traffic management methods and to position traffic controllers a minimum of 1.2m from the live lane when working near traffic. Traffic Diversions Group alongside  Civil Training Australia prepared a Verification of Competency (VOC) unit for the Gibney Barrier, Portaboom and eStop devices.

This VOC not only assists in meeting Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, but assures our traffic controllers are competent to operate each piece of equipment and understand Civil Training Australia’s Training Facilitators conduct regular sessions with our traffic controllers across a variety of topics to ensure that we continue to develop the skills and capabilities of our workforce.
