Cyclist jailed for ‘gratuitous violence’ against traffic controllers

Traffic Diversions Group welcomes the news that a Queensland court has handed a 12-month jail sentence to a man who pleaded guilty to serious assault on a Traffic Controller. The man was also fined for his actions, which the judge called “inexplicable, gratuitous violence”.

Like physical intimidation and assault in any workplace, attacks on Traffic Controller must not be tolerated by the community. TCs are just doing their best to keep the community safe as they travel through roadworks. Please remember that, the next time you’re tempted to get frustrated at delays while driving through a worksite.
