Congratulations to our very own Paul (Grizz) Knaap, long standing employee at TDG since 2017, on being the Victorian State Finalist for the TMAA Traffic Controller of the Year (TCOY) Award.

Paul was nominated because of his tireless commitment to upskilling & training the team, always prioritising safety, acting as a natural leader, and always offering support and guidance where needed.

Paul ensures he complies with all competencies and has even put himself through multiple courses in safety and training. He is genuinely proud of what he does and sets the expectations for the staff around him, allowing them to feel comfortable in their skin with sound advice that only comes with knowledge and life experience.

If there is a safer way to implement a worksite, that minimises the time our controllers spend on the road, Paul will consult the workgroup.

To date, Paul has trained 13 competent, quality TMA drivers for TDG, some averaging 134 hours each of internal training. Paul makes a difference in helping to ensure our roads are safer with drivers, who understand their responsibility, and being a mentor who offers support when required, even after training.

We work on high risk roads daily and take TMA's for granted. They are an integral part of our industry, not only for the traffic controllers but for all road users.
At TDG, we are extremely fortunate to have someone like Paul who makes a difference on a daily basis.

Thank you to Matthew Bereni, for personally delivering the award to Paul this week.
